The short version

We don't collect anything. EditPdfMetaData runs entirely in your web browser. Your PDF files are never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by us — because there is no server component that could receive them.

How your files are handled

When you select or drop a PDF into the editor, your browser reads it into local memory using the standard File API. All parsing and metadata editing is performed by JavaScript executing on your own device. When you download the result, the new file is generated in memory and handed to your browser's download manager.

Your file is discarded from memory when you load a different document, close the tab, or reload the page. Nothing is written to persistent storage, and nothing is transmitted over the network.

What we don't do

  • We do not upload, copy, or retain your documents.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, session recording, or fingerprinting.
  • We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
  • We do not require an account, an email address, or any personal information.
  • We do not sell, share, or transfer data to third parties — there is no data to transfer.

Local storage

The site stores exactly one value in your browser's localStorage: your light or dark theme preference. It is a single key namedtheme, it never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it. No cookies are set.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like virtually all web hosts, that provider may record standard technical request logs (IP address, timestamp, requested file, user agent) for security and operational purposes. These logs relate to page requests only — your PDF files are never part of any request, so they can never appear in a log.

Verifying these claims

You don't have to trust this page. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and edit a PDF — you will see no request carrying your file. For a stronger test, load the page, disconnect from the internet, and use the editor offline. It works, because the processing was always happening locally.

Children's privacy

The tool collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Any future version that introduced data collection would be announced clearly on this page rather than quietly amended.
